Frequently asked questions

Colon hydrotherapy, also known as a colonic or colon cleanse, is a gentle treatment that involves the safe, gentle infusion of warm filtered water into the colon via the rectum. The water helps to soften and remove accumulated fecal matter, toxins, and debris, allowing your digestive system to function more efficiently.

Colon hydrotherapy can enhance your overall well-being by reducing toxins in your body, improving internal detoxification, boosting energy levels, and aiding in digestive health. It’s particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing bloating, constipation, or other digestive issues.

Absolutely. At Kuyu Colonics, we use state-of-the-art, medically graded equipment that is thoroughly sanitised between sessions. Our therapists are trained professionals dedicated to ensuring your comfort and safety throughout the treatment.

During a session, you’ll lie comfortably on a treatment table while a small, disposable speculum is gently inserted into the rectum. Warm, filtered water will be slowly introduced into your colon. The water will circulate, softening and loosening material in the colon, which is then naturally evacuated by your body. The process is discreet, hygienic, and odor-free.

A typical session lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. We recommend allowing extra time for consultation and relaxation, especially if it’s your first session.

To maximise the benefits of your colonic, hydrate well with plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment, eat light meals rich in vegetables and fruits, and avoid alcohol, caffeine, and processed foods. Detailed preparation tips can be found on our website or provided by our team.

Most people find the experience deeply relaxing, and many even report a feeling of heightened energy and well-being immediately afterwards. Some minor discomfort might occur, but it’s generally brief and manageable.

The frequency of colonics depends on your personal health goals and conditions. After your initial treatment, our therapists will recommend a schedule that suits your needs. Some clients prefer a session every few months, while others benefit from a more frequent regimen during periods of dietary change or stress.

Yes, most clients resume their normal daily activities immediately after their session. We recommend listening to your body and potentially keeping your schedule light and relaxed for the rest of the day, especially if it’s your first time receiving a colonic.

Colon hydrotherapy is not recommended during pregnancy due to the potential risks it poses to both the mother and the unborn child. Always consult with your healthcare provider before considering any form of treatment during pregnancy.

A typical colon hydrotherapy session lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes. However, you should allow extra time for preparation and a brief rest period following the treatment.

We recommend wearing something comfortable from the waist down. Pants, shorts and a top are preferable as you will remove everything from the waist down for your treatment and a towel will be used to cover your bottom half.

It is uncommon to experience leakage following a colon hydrotherapy session. The procedure is designed to fully evacuate the contents of the colon. However, if you have any concerns, your therapist can provide advice on managing any immediate post-treatment sensitivities.
